Romans 8:18 - “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us." With today being the fresh start, and we remember all that happened last year, remember what is waiting for us when we get to Heaven and don't forget to keep looking up. "Even so, come, Lord Jesus." May that be our families' prayer for this new year. -Joshua Gross

Proverbs 24:13-14 - "My son eat thou honey, because it is good and the honeycomb which is sweet to thy taste. So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul when thou hast found it then there shall be a reward and thy expectation shall not be cut off." We can only gain true wisdom from the Word of God so with the new year starting I am going to commit myself to spending more time in His Word than this past year! - Wes Smith

1 Samuel 15:22a - "And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of the Lord?" Saul worshipped as he saw fit and when confronted was full of excuses.  Sound familiar? Are we following the instructions of the Bible and simply obeying God's Word or conforming our worship to what we feel like is acceptable and excusing away the conviction from the Holy Spirit? - Jason Brothers

Acts 17:6 - "And...they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also." We may not be able to change the entire world, but we can do everything possible to influence our corner of the world for Jesus Christ. It would be the ultimate epitaph to say "he turned the world upside down," but that only comes when we completely sell out to Christ and let Him use us how He sees fit. - Steve Boots

2 Samuel 7:18 - "Then went king David in, and sat before the LORD, and he said, Who am I, O LORD GOD?  and what is my house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?"  It is humbling to think of all that God has done for us and where He has placed us at this time in our lives. It is amazing that God chooses to work through us. - John Mark Brothers

2 Corinthians 6:14 - "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness?  and what communion hath light with darkness?"  What changes can we make in our lives this New Year to improve our fellowship with the Lord? - Jason Barrett

Matthew 7:11 - "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in Heaven give good things to them that ask Him?" Just as we had great excitement giving our children their gifts, think of the God of all creation choosing us individually to bless each day. He not only keeps his promise to meet our needs, but He also gives us blessings each day. Let's remind Him daily how thankful we are by our words and the way we live." Jason Myers

Matthew 1:21 - "And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins." Remember the reason we celebrate Christmas is not just for Christ's birth, but for His death. The purpose of His birth was so that He could die - so He could "save his people from their sins."  Praise the Lord that our salvation wasn't finished at His death, for He is RISEN! - Garrett Longest

John 3:16-17 - “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”  As we celebrate Christmas with family and friends, let us not forget to be a witness to others of the saving grace of Christ and why Jesus Christ was sent by God to be born into the world.  - Clifford Myers

Romans 4:7,8 - "...Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.  Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin." Because of salvation, to have the Lord not hold us to the sins in our lives is immeasurable.  To share this blessing with others is priceless.  - Phil Dann

Proverbs 21:31 - "The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the Lord." In life we all have battles to face daily or even hourly it may seem at times.  We can prepare and do what we think is needed, but ultimately those are human actions. Our true dependence must be on Him for His guidance and protection. Our best effort is feeble at best when compared to the provision He supplies. There is no greater testimony of God's care and love for us than Jesus, the real reason for CHRISTmas. - Matthew Stephens

Psalm 31:6a - "I have hated them that regard lying vanities."  If we listed the titles in our movie collections or went through our internet history together, would we find evidence that we hate the world's lying vanities, or rather that we relish them? -Daniel Holser

Psalm 81:13 - "Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways!" - If you can, read the last verses of this chapter following vs 13 as well. It speaks of the good things God had in store if His people would just have obeyed his voice and turned their hearts to Him. I think that most of our problems are mostly our own faults. God has so much in store for us and our families, but often we are too stubborn or proud to surrender our lives to Him, the one who knows the good plans He has for our lives. If only He could get us to hand over the reins of our hearts to Him. - Brian Boots

John 1:4-5 - "In Him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not." How is your light doing? Is it bright or are you a little dim? Your light will only shine if you are connected to the power source. Stay close to Him and His Word, and your light will be bright without you even trying. - Joshua Gross

Matthew 7:4 - "Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull the mote out of thine eye,and behold a beam is in thine own eye?" We should be looking for small things in our lives to straighten out not being critical to our Christian brothers... - Wes Smith

Proverbs 16:20 - "He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good and whoso trusteth in the Lord happy is he."  The sin we deny (pride, selfishness, what we want, how we look) when we handle a matter wisely, gives way to a trust in Christ that satisfies.  Grasp hold of good judgement, slowness to anger, and a humble spirit.  Handling your  problems wisely will become easier. -Jason Brothers

Titus 1:16 - "They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate." We all profess to know God, but what do our works, public and private, prove? We know what is right; we prove our love for God when we just do it. - Steve Boots

Psalm 68:19 - "Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation."  There's not a day that goes by that God doesn't take care of us. Be aware today of the daily blessings of God. - John Mark Brothers

Monday, December 14, 2015

Ephesians 6:6 - "Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;" - At work, are we working hard to look good to our boss or co-workers?  At church, do we serve for attention or praise?  Are my true motives to help accomplish God's will or simply please men? - Jason Barrett

Psalm 73:24 - "Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory." God will guide you with His counsel. He'll never give you bad advice, lead you in the wrong direction, or be unable to solve a problem. And after this life is over, He'll receive you into His glorious presence. Notice the words "guide" and "receive". This means God is always present. There is never any time apart from God, for He has told us "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." - Garrett Longest

Acts 4:13-14 - "Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men,  they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them,  that they had been with Jesus. And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it. "
The most powerful tool of influence we have to go along with the Gospel is the testimony of our changed life. No matter how much hatred there is towards Christianity,  there is nothing the world can offer that can change a life like Jesus can. Let's be excited about being different than the world and use our testimony to point others to Christ. - Jason Myers

Psalm 19:14  - “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.” David desired that his words, speech and personal thoughts would be acceptable to GOD.  He also acknowledged that his strength and redemption comes solely from the LORD. It should likewise be our desire and daily prayers that our actions, thoughts, words, and speech be found acceptable to our LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST.  -Clifford Myers

Acts 25:7 - "And when he was come, the Jews which came down  from Jerusalem stood round about, and laid many and grievous complaints against Paul, which they could not prove." Paul went through many trials and persecutions that tested his faith.  Remember that God will be with us in all that we face today.  How we handle them reflects our faith and trust in Him.  - Phil Dann

Joshua 8:34 - "And afterward he read all the words of the law, the blessings and cursings, according to all that is written in the book of the law." - Israel has just been given a great victory after their first defeat at Ai. Joshua knew that right after thanking God for the victory he needed to remind the people it was not they who had won the battle. As we pray and ask for victories, let's not just thank God for that "big win" but also thank Him for who He is. Let's remember both His goodness and His demand for righteousness. - Matt Stephens

Philippians 2:3 - "Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind, let each esteem other better than themselves." The Bible also tells us that "only by pride cometh contention." We need to check our hearts for pride and take upon ourselves, as Christ did, the form of a servant. - Daniel Holser

Monday, December 7, 2015

Psalm 73:13 - "Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency." In this entire Psalm, the Psalmist is calling out to God about how those of the world seem to prosper in their wickedness, and yet he struggled along, fighting to be clean, and seemingly getting no blessing from God for his desire to be right - until vs. 17. "Until I went into the sanctuary of God, then understood I their end." In the end, sinners will pay for their sin, and we know the joy and blessing we have coming to us in Heaven. Let what we have learned in church about the sinners end,  motivate us to compassion for their souls. - Brian Boots

Micah 7:8 - "Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me."  The verse never says we won't fall, nor be in darkness, but we have the blessed hope that we will rise, and He will be there to help us through no matter what we face. - Josh Gross

Luke 6:38 - "Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure pressed down and shaken together and running over."
Remember in this Christmas season the more you give to God the more you will receive back from Him..."running over" the verse says! - Wes Smith

Proverbs 17:28 - "Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding."  How many times this week have I said something without thinking?  Making a habit of internally asking God for wisdom before speaking will help us have fewer opportunities of saying something we wish we hadn't. - Jason Brothers

Hebrews 11:13,16 - "These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them...But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God..." Do your desires and your amount of faith leave God ashamed or proud to be your God? - Steve Boots

Acts 13:52 - "And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Ghost." Real joy comes as we are filled with the Spirit. I want to ask God each day for the fullness of the Spirit, and consequently a life filled with joy. - John Mark Brothers

Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."   Praise God that He has a plan (expected end) for all of us and wants to use each of us in a great way.  Are we working toward His will for us? - Jason Barrett

I Thessalonians 5:17 - "Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine."
One of the things we take for granted is that we have a man of God here who works extremely hard at helping us fulfill God's will for our lives. Let's tell the Lord how thankful we are for our pastor.  Let's show our pastor how thankful we are by putting into practice the things he gives us from God's Word. - Jason Myers

1 John 3:22 - "And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight." Psalm 66:18 - "If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me." If we have an unforgiving heart, bitterness, or any unconfessed sin, then our prayers fall on deaf ears. But if we are living a life that is pleasing to God and do what He says, He will grant us anything that we ask for. Keep in mind that whatever we are praying for should also be pleasing to God. - Garrett Longest

Philippians 4:6-7 - “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” We are to come to Christ by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving for all our cares whether small or large. I Peter 5: 7 states, “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” Verse 6 reminds us to bring all our requests to God with thanksgiving.  We all have much to thank Christ Jesus starting with our salvation, family, and church. - Clifford Myers

John 14:13,14 - "And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it." As fathers, we want to provide the best for our children even if they don't ask.  How does God want to provide for us?  Jesus tells us twice in a row...ask in his name and he will do it.  There's no limit if we ask with the right heart. -Phil Dann

Psalm 100:4 - "Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name." - I would encourage everyone to read this short psalm today as we remember His great blessing and provision. Sunday Evening was such a blessing seeing how God has been good to us this year.  Let's not just remember God's goodness, but share it with others today. - Matt Stephens

1 Corinthians 10:13 - "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man..."  Hebrews 4:15, "...but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin."  One of the devil's attacks is to accuse you for being tempted. Remember, all temptations are shared by your fellows, and what's more, were presented to Christ during His life on earth. Just as He said no to every temptation, there is no wicked thought or deed that we can't refuse. - Daniel Holser

Tuesday, November 24, 2015

Psalm 65:2,4 -  O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come. All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name. Selah." These are some awesome facts about what is to come, that are stated as exactly that in Psalms, facts.  There is no question that every man on this earth will sing the praise and glory of His name. I am so thankful that as Christians, we get to sing praise from grateful hearts and not by force as many will before they are cast into hell. Let's not forget to sing those praises for all His goodness in this busy time of the year. - Brian Boots

Monday, November 23, 2015

Psalm 119:9 - "Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to thy word." Do you have trouble with sin? Not sure how to overcome it? God gave us the perfect answer, His Word.  The verse says we must heed His Word, which means we have to be in it, to know it. Daily studying His Word will fill the gaps that sin has made and remake your wall to keep sin out. Don't take your reading lightly. - Joshua Gross

Philippians 4:11-12 - "Not that I speak in respect of want for I have  learned in whatsoever state I am therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased and I know how to abound every where and in all things I am instructed both to be hungry both to abound and to suffer need." A long time ago a good friend shared this verse with me and it helped me through a tough time...thought I would share it in case someone is having a tough time. Lean on Jesus and your Christian brothers! - Wes Smith

John 20:22 - "Jesus saith unto him if I will that he tarry till I come what is that to thee? Follow thou Me." Keep your focus on Christ.  What are all the things going on in this world to you, to me? Follow thou Christ. - Jason Brothers

Acts 1:8 - “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you..." Are you filled with the power of the Holy Spirit to the point that if the Holy Spirit were taken from this world right now, would your life continue on unchanged, or would it feel as if you had lost everything? - Steve Boots

Proverbs 18:12 - "Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour is humility." God give us a humble spirit today as we work and take care of our families. - John Mark Brothers

Psalm 18:2-3a - "The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.  I will call upon the Lord..."  He's exactly what you need for whatever you face today! - Jason Barrett

Proverbs 20:6 - "Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?" Be encouraged, that in our church, we can find many faithful men. You, as well as other men, are an encouragement to me through your faithfulness.  I am glad that my boys have faithful men as examples here at Gill Grove. - Jason Myers

Monday, November 16, 2015

2 Samuel 22:47 - "The Lord liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation." This word "rock" in other verses corresponds to "mountain". Our faith and salvation have an immovable foundation. No other religion can say that, as they all have a sandy foundation. God is the one and only way, truth, and life, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Blessed be the name of the Lord. - Garrett Longest

Sunday, November 15, 2015

Colossians 4:5-6 - “Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.  Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.” Our daily walk as Christians in the home, workplace, and other daily activities requires much wisdom.  Whether as a boss, worker, young or old, it is imperative that we ask Christ daily for wisdom.  Proverbs 4: 7 states “Wisdom is the principal thing therefore get wisdom…”.  In James 1 we are told that GOD will give wisdom to all men liberally if we ask. - Clifford Myers

Saturday, November 14, 2015

Luke 4:8 - "And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan:  for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve."  With the increasing temptations of the day, this verse will shield us from Satan's firey darts if all we do is call on God. - Phil Dann

Friday, November 13, 2015

Proverbs 11:20b - "...but such as are upright in their way are His delight."  In a day of so much wickedness and evil it is comforting to know that God has given us the ability to live for Him. "Upright" is referenced back to Psa. 119:1 which tells us that uprightness comes from walking after God's Word. When we live after God's Word not only are we living right we are also God's delight. It is amazing that God in Heaven would delight in us! - Matt Stephens

Thursday, November 12, 2015

2 Samuel 7:14a - "I will be his father, and he shall be my son." Psalm 27:10 - "When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up." The failures of earthly fathers can be healed, and all our needs for fathering met by our true Father, God. His love and strength can altogether fill that void. It's an amazing offer to the deepest needs of our hearts. - Daniel Holser

Psalm 53:2-3 - "God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God. Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one." It should be our prayer that God would never have to look down on us to see if we are still seeking Him, and have to say no, we have gone back and become filthy. A good motivator to continue seeking Him, is to continually look back at the cross. - Brian Boots

Ezekiel 33:6 – “But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand."  We are His watchmen, and it is our job to blow the trumpet now.  It is not that we have not seen the "sword come," it is that we are not doing anything about it.  And the Bible is clear in stating that if we do nothing, then their blood will be "required at the watchman's hand." Don't forget that those who you come into contact today may be their last day, and you are the last watchman to warn them.  Don't get to heaven with bloody hands. - Joshua Gross

Monday, November 9, 2015

Proverbs 20:29 - "The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the grey head." We have all the above and some in between on here so don't forget our roles that God gave us, including working hard and providing guidance to the younger men.
- Wes Smith

Matthew 26:75 - "And Peter remembered the word of Jesus which said unto him Before the cock crow thou shalt deny me twice.  And he went out and wept bitterly." Peter's failures before the crucifixion allowed him to be the help God wanted him to be at Pentecost and throughout the rest of his life.  God has a way of humbling us so that we depend solely on Him.  You can choose to humble yourself or God will choose to do so. If we will learn from it like Peter, the positive is that it will make us better Christians and a help to those in need. - Jason Brothers

2 Corinthians 10:5 - "Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every though to the obedience of Christ." Every thought...EVERY thought. If we could accomplish this in our lives, there is no limit to how God could use us. - Steve Boots
I Samuel 7:5 - "And Samuel said, Gather all Israel to Mizpeh, and I will pray for you unto the Lord."  I am so thankful for all those that pray for my family.  God does so much through our intercessory prayer. - John Mark Brothers

I Timothy 1:12 - "And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;"  It's humbling the grace God shows us through salvation and how He allows us to be a witness for Him. - Jason Barrett

Psalm 111:10 - "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: His praise endureth for ever." There is a progression of growth that we should see in our Christian lives.   We begin to gain wisdom as we think of God's great power and our great weakness. We then begin to understand more as we obey God's Word and see God working through us. As we see the LORD bless, it should cause us to constantly praise Him for His wisdom that He has given us to follow. - Jason Myers

Joshua 22:20 - "Did not Achan the son of Zerah commit a trespass in the accursed thing, and wrath fell on all the congregation of Israel? and that man perished not alone in his iniquity." If we have sin in our lives that we are holding on to, our family and even our church can suffer for it. Achan's sin cost him his life, his family, and "all that he had." In chapters 7 and 8, we see that once that sin was removed the nation of Israel was able to defeat the enemy. After we put away that sin, then we will prosper. - Garrett Longest

Psalms 143:8 - “Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the
morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should
walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.” We should strive to take time each morning to ask CHRIST for wisdom and guidance regarding the issues and problems of that day. - Clifford Myers

Luke 21:27,28 - "And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.  And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh." The 2 verses leading up to today's verse could have well been written today, concerning signs of the times.  Let's eagerly await our Lord's coming, and be found faithful regardless of the pressures of the world we live in. - Phil Dann

Proverbs 30:12 "There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness."  Notice a couple things with me. This generation considers itself to be pure; they think they have done no wrong. Sounds like our country. They have no idea about righteousness and sin.  In reality they are not just sinful they are filthy, completely covered in their wickedness. I remember as a kid, my mom telling telling me i was filthy after a hard day of playing outside. I had to go in and get cleaned up. Let this verse remind us that first, this world is not just a sinful place, it's a filthy place. Second, that only God can clean us up. Let's ask God to clean us up and use us to help someone find His cleansing power. - Matt Stephens

Eph. 6:12 - "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."  This is a familiar verse, but a truth we often forget. - Daniel Holser

Psalm 44:6 - "For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me."  Gideon found this to be true when he delivered a massive victory without even carrying a weapon into battle. We must remember this as we go out into the world, and into our daily spiritual battle: the Lord is our salvation, and our most trusted weapons are God's Word and prayer. - Brian Boots

Wednesday, October 28, 2015

Ecclesiastes 1:18 - "For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow."  As we learn and study more of His Word, we will learn more about ourselves and what a sinful people we are. But it never says that we should not become wise, but to increase in knowledge and wisdom.  Never forget where He saved you from, for when we do, we do lose the fire and the reason why we should tell others. - Joshua Gross

Tuesday, October 27, 2015

Colossians 3:12 - "Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, and longsuffering." We must deliberately put these things on every morning as our flesh does want to be meek and humble. - Wes Smith

Genesis 14:14 - "And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive he armed his trained servants born in his own house three hundred and eighteen and pursued them unto Dan." Abram automatically went out to save Lot without any thought for himself or why Lot was in that condition.  When people need you the most, it is likely because they have gone against what they know to be right.  Be ready to help those in need this week no matter their reason for needing help. - Jason Brothers

Matthew 25:23 - "His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord." We will never hear "well done" at the end of our lives if He could not say it of yesterday's actions, or today's actions, or tomorrow's, or the next day's... Strive to hear "well done" of today. - Steve Boots

Psalm 112:1-2  - "Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.  His seed shall be mighty upon earth:  the generation of the upright shall be blessed."  It is a wonderful promise from God that He will not only bless us, but also our children as we follow His Word. - John Mark Brothers

Psalm 107:23-24 - "They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters; These see the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep."  Think about all the mighty things God does each day we never see or hear about.  This should give us confidence when we take our request to Him and even more to praise Him for! - Jason Barrett

Proverbs 16:7 - "When a man's ways please the LORD, He maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him." We can, to an extent, determine how peaceful our day will be by being at peace with God through our actions.  - Jason Myers

Matthew 6:26 - "Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?" Don't ever think that God is "too busy" to worry about you. If He cares enough to feed His birds, don't you think He cares enough to meet our needs? No matter how big or how small our needs are, God will always provide. - Garrett Longest

Psalm 145: 4 - "One generation shall praise thy works to another,  and shall declare thy mighty acts." By making our family aware of God's blessings and goodness to us, we increase both theirs and our faith and thankfulness so they as the next generation will desire to do the same. - Clifford Myers.

Mark 13:7 - And when ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet."  God allows everything in this world to happen as part of His will.  We should be encouraged daily in what unfolds before us and that He's coming again soon.  Let us be found busy in His will.  - Phil Dann

Psalm 17:15 - "As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness." Two thoughts here: It is only by the righteousness of Christ we can see God's face and our spirit will never be content until it reflects the image if the One who made it. God is so good to not only make a way for us to come to Him but also to know the greatest need of our soul. That is to be more like Him today than we were yesterday. Let's have more of Him on His day than of ourselves. - Matt Stephens

Philippians 4:19 - "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." I don't find this so much to be about money but rather about the rich amount of glory that Jesus offers. We need glory, and salvation brings us into a union with His greatness that meets that need. - Daniel Holser

Psalm 38:10,15 - "My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me. 15. For in thee, o Lord, do I hope..."  It is not unordinary for our hearts to be heavy at times, whether because of our own sin, or a burden we are carrying. Often we turn to pleasure or material things to ease that ache, but as Christians we must remember that our hope is in Christ alone. - Brian Boots

Isaiah 26:3 - "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee."  When hard choices come in our lives. We can take heart and strength knowing that we can have peace.  - Joshua Gross

Mark 10:47-48 - "Bartimaeus... he began to cry out and say Jesus, thou son of David have mercy upon me.  And many charged him that he should hold his peace." Sometimes we are so caught up with all we are doing, we miss an opportunity to do something for God.  I missed 2 opportunities for witnessing last week because I was so busy doing "great" things.  Make sure you take advantage of the openings God gives you. - Jason Brothers

Psalm 34:15 - "The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry." In any temptation, any trial, any situation, God hears...no, He's listening for...the cry of His child. - Steve Boots

Hebrews 10:23 - "Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for He is faithful that promised;)"  One of the most challenging parts of our Christian walk is the testimony we keep before co-workers. Many of them will only hear of Jesus through us and they must see a difference in us to be curious of the faith that we live out. Let's be encouraged in the faith we have today so tomorrow we can be able to profess it to others. - Matt Stephens

John 7:37 tells us, "Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink."  The world offers many things to satisfy our thirst for love, purpose, and passion.  But all of it is like saltwater; it only makes the thirst worse.  We must take our desire for life to Him.  He is the only One, the living water from which we can drink and be filled. - Daniel Holser

Psalm 33:8-9 - "Let all the earth fear the Lord: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. For He spake and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast."  This last phrase is a reference to Joshua when the sun stood still for him. We all know this story and are amazed by it. We are told to stand in awe of Him, and He is certainly still in the business of giving us things to be in awe of. If we would only slow down enough to recognize those things and give Him the glory He deserves. - Brian Boots

Psalm 8:4  "What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?" No matter how low, or high the day is going today, remember that the God of the universe is mindful of you. It's very humbling, uplifting, and precious that a lowly sinner has the attention of one so righteous. - Josh Gross

1 Corinthians 15:58 - "Therefore my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable,  always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord." At times we may not see the benefit of our secular work, but know that everything we do for Christ counts for eternity.  - Wes Smith

1 Peter 5:7 - "Casting all your care upon him for he careth for you."  Don't try to do it by yourself or on your own because it will bring you down.  We are no match for the devil.  Give your struggles to Christ with Whom all things are possible. - Jason Brothers

Psalm 3:6 - "I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about".  This verse made me think about what is happening in the middle east right now. Even America is beginning to turn on Israel with this new agreement with Iran. We can be encouraged and strengthened knowing that even though our own country may turn on its closest ally, we serve the same God they do and can know that we also have that same assurance  of His care. - Matt Stephens

Psalm 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God..." I wake up many mornings with a load of bricks hitting my chest - a dozen things to get done, worries at work, cares of this life. What to do? STOP, force youself to stop, be still, think only on Him and His attributes. He is the all-powerful Creator of the universe; He loves me deeply; He is in control. Then, peace and confidence chase away anxious thoughts. - Daniel Holser

Psalms 31:7-8 - "I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities; and hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy."   We know from the story of Job that although God does allow the Devil to bring adversity into our lives, He does in fact have to get permission from our Father. And before He permits it, He considers what we can handle and has mercy on us. This can then be a comfort to us then knowing that our trials are very much under His control.  - Brian Boots

James 1:5 - “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”  Sometimes we are too close to our own problems; we can't see what is fully happening. We need a better perspective; we need a higher perspective. Remember to ask God for His guidance in each situation.  - Josh Gross

Psalm 24:1 - "The earth is the Lords and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein." It is not our job to try to make everything in life work out. We need to find what God wants us to do and do that. He has the power to work out all the details.  - Brian Boots

James 5:16a - "Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed..." Secret sins will destroy our effectiveness as Christian men. If you're struggling, don't be too proud to confide in a brother and ask for prayer.  - Daniel Holser

Psalm 122:1 - "I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord." As fathers and husbands, it's our responsibility to set this example for our families. They will be excited about what we truly enjoy!  - Matthew Stephens

1 Corinthians 2:9 - "But as it written, eye hath not seen, not ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him." The world has yet to see what God can do with and for one man who is completely surrendered to Him.  - Steve Boots

Psalms 26:1 - "Judge me, O Lord; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have also trusted also in the Lord; therefore I shall not slide." Faith allows us to always look ahead and never look back! We must look to Him to keep from sliding. - Wes Smith

Proverbs 22:28 - "Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set."  The Bible refers 4 times to not move the old landmarks.  Today that is all the world is telling us and our kids to do. Take courage and stick to the old stuff; hold fast to the standards God set, for when you don't, they slip away little by little.  - Josh Gross

Psalm 27:1 - "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom then shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?"  We do not have this strength in and of ourselves. But this is quite a confidence booster going into spiritual battle, knowing that we have this kind of strength that we can and should tap in to.  - Brian Boots

Proverbs 29:25 - "The fear of man bringeth a snare..." Fear keeps us from risking the vulnerability that comes with love. The result: shallow, unfulfilling relationships. Want to be fearless? Try looking your wife in the eyes and, with no distractions around, ask "How can I do a better job showing you that I love you?" That's bravery! - Daniel Holser

Psalm 57:5 - "Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth." David is on the run from Saul, yet he determines to praise God in this Psalm. Remember, no matter what we are facing this week, to praise God in the midst of it.  - Matt Stephens

Hebrews 12:14 - "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord." In order to be close to God; in order to really see God for who He is, we must seek to be holy in every area of our lives.  - Steve Boots

Jeremiah 33:2-3 - "Thus saith the Lord the maker thereof, the Lord that formed it, to establish it; the Lord is his name; Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not."
We are familiar with verse 3 but verse 2 is so important. It shows and explains who God really is, and the power He holds to answer our prayers.  I truly believe we as Christians do not pray enough, nor do we fully realize the power that is untapped by us through prayer. Remember, we have access to the one who owns it all. Don't make prayer the last option, make it your first.  - Joshua Gross
