Psalm 81:13 - "Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways!" - If you can, read the last verses of this chapter following vs 13 as well. It speaks of the good things God had in store if His people would just have obeyed his voice and turned their hearts to Him. I think that most of our problems are mostly our own faults. God has so much in store for us and our families, but often we are too stubborn or proud to surrender our lives to Him, the one who knows the good plans He has for our lives. Psalm 73:13 - "Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency." In this entire Psalm, the Psalmist is calling out to God about how those of the world seem to prosper in their wickedness, and yet he struggled along, fighting to be clean, and seemingly getting no blessing from God for his desire to be right - until vs. 17. "Until I went into the sanctuary of God, then understood I their end." In the end, sinners will pay for their sin, and we know the joy and blessing we have coming to us in Heaven. Let what we have learned in church about the sinners end,  motivate us to compassion for their souls. - Brian Boots

Ezekiel 33:6 – “But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand."  We are His watchmen, and it is our job to blow the trumpet now.  It is not that we have not seen the "sword come," it is that we are not doing anything about it.  And the Bible is clear in stating that if we do nothing, then their blood will be "required at the watchman's hand." Don't forget that those who you come into contact today may be their last day, and you are the last watchman to warn them.  Don't get to heaven with bloody hands. - Joshua Gross

Proverbs 30:12 "There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness."  Notice a couple things with me. This generation considers itself to be pure; they think they have done no wrong. Sounds like our country. They have no idea about righteousness and sin.  In reality they are not just sinful they are filthy, completely covered in their wickedness. I remember as a kid, my mom telling telling me i was filthy after a hard day of playing outside. I had to go in and get cleaned up. Let this verse remind us that first, this world is not just a sinful place, it's a filthy place. Second, that only God can clean us up. Let's ask God to clean us up and use us to help someone find His cleansing power. - Matt Stephens

It shows and explains who God really is, and the power He holds to answer our prayers.  I truly believe we as Christians do not pray enough, nor do we fully realize the power that is untapped by us through prayer.
