John 16:33- "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” You hear about us having tribulations from this passage a lot, but what pops out for me is that He says "have overcome". And Jesus says this before the crucifixion. I believe He had faith and knew the strength of God and trusted Him alone, and that's why Jesus knew He already had won. I pray we can learn to trust and lean on Him so much that we don't even worry about our situations, but that we know we have already overcome them because of His power. - Josh Gross

Galatians 6:3 - "For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing he deceiveth himself." As I watch the political race and also work in a corporate environment, men and woman think they are something more than they are it reminds me that we are nothing without Christ.  We need Him to be good husbands and fathers and employers or employees. -

I Samuel 10:26 - "And Saul also went home to Gibeah and there went with him a band of men whose hearts God had touched." When I think about the future of our church and the impact it will have on my family I want to be in the group of men whose hearts are touched by God.  Not undecided, not compromising, not involved but grounded surrendered and doing all we can for Christ in the place where He put us. -Jason Brothers

2 Timothy 2:19b - "...And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity." What this means is that if we claim to be Christians then we should act like it. Acting like it means doing everything in our power (and His) to stay away from things that we know are wrong. - Steve Boots

Psalm 78:6-7 - "That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children:  That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:" We have a responsibility to pass on the truths of God's Word to our children no matter how bad the world around us is. - John Mark Brothers

Ephesians 5:15-16 - "See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,  Redeeming the time, because the days are evil."  How much time do we waste each day when we could be doing something for the Lord or spending time with Him? - Jason Barrett

Proverbs 23:17,26 - "Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the LORD all the day long. My son, give me thine heart,  and let thine eyes observe my ways." I want my children to love, fear, and serve the Lord through all of their lives.  I do not want something that I do to move them from those goals.  Let's pray, that as the leaders in our homes, we will lead our children in the right way, not only with our words, but with our actions as well. - Jason Myers

1 Cor. 3:12,13 "Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is." Gold, silver, and precious stones take great effort of searching and mining. Gold and silver have to be refined and purified. Precious stones must be precisely cut and polished. There's a lot of hard work and great care involved in the craftsmanship of these things, but not so much with wood, hay, and stubble. Gathering these flammable items that aren't worth much doesn't seem to be very tedious, but pretty "easy" work. Let's get busy and sincerely care for our service to God. He will greatly reward us for our hard work. Remember 1 Corinthians 15:58. - Garrett Longest

Proverbs 18:24 - “A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.” Proverbs 27:9 “Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the sweetness of a man's friend by hearty counsel.”Proverbs 27:17 “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.” The Bible states being the right friend and being a friend is important. Help us to be a good Christian friend and witness to the lost. Christ is the best friend we can have. - Clifford Myers

Ecclesiastes 5:1 - "Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil." When your foundation is right, you will be ready for what God has for you in every message. Don't let a distraction make you miss what God has planned just for you.  - Phil Dann

1 Corinthians 7:3a - "Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence..." I came across this passage and the words "due benevolence" jumped out. By nature women are responders, and this passage talks to the man first in each verse.  These words that God tells the man indicate a kindness, a delight in the others' happiness, and wanting good will before ourselves. As husbands this is the attitude due our wives! Too often I find myself being selfish and these word are a great reminder to lovingly give ALL for my wife as Christ in love gave ALL for me.  - Matt Stephens

I Corinthians 11:3 - "But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ..." Submission to one's head is not just an issue for wives. Husbands have to do it, too. We have Christ as our authority, and our obedience to Him should be an example of the cheerful submission we desire from our wives. I gladly obey Him because I know He loves me. - Daniel Holser

Psalm 74:8 - "They said in their hearts, Let us destroy them together: they have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land." The rest of this chapter reminds us that God sees what the wicked are doing, and the punishment of the wicked in the past. Our country is being described in this verse. Our job is to obey the commands of God for how we should live, and let him take care of dealing with the wicked. - Brian Boots

1 Corinthians 14:33 - "For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.” We may not know exactly what His will is every day, but we can know that He is in control and that His will will not contradict His Word. So we can rest assured our faith in Him. -Josh Gross

1 Samuel 2:17 - "Wherefore the sin of the young men was very great before the Lord  for men abhorred the offering of the Lord." There is a great responsibility to keep the House of the Lord sacred and to be serious about those things that God tells us are important from His word.  Men in this passage obeyed God even though those in charge of the temple abused the role they had been given. Church should be a place away from all the abuses and excesses of the world.  A sacred place where to the best of our ability we are serving Christ for His glory not for our own. -Jason Brothers

Judges 8:4 - "And Gideon came to Jordan and passed over, he, and the three hundred men that were with him, faint yet pursuing." It's not easy in this day to constantly fight sin and the devil, but God has more work for us to do and more victories for us to win. - Steve Boots

Job 42:6 - "Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes."  God blessed Job once Job saw himself as he really was.  Never lose sight of how great God is and how frail we are.  - John Mark Brothers

Matthew 12:36-37..."But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.  For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned."  How careful are we each day with our "words"...at home with our family, at work, even at church with our friends?  Do we use our words enough for good....or to speak up & tell others about Christ when we're given opportunities? - Jason Barrett

I Corinthians 3:7-8 - "So then neither is he that planteth anything, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.  Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour." Remember that we are all working together to accomplish something for the Lord in our homes, our church, and our workplaces.  We will be rewarded according to what we do with what God has given us. Let's continue to encourage each other to accomplish more for the Lord in our lives and ministries. - Jason Myers

James 4:3 - "Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts." How many times have we selfishly asked God for something that will fulfill our fleshly desires, or that will be for our own benefit? The model prayer that Jesus gave us begins with "Our Father" and looks to Him for His honor, provision, and guidance. Prayer should be with a servant's heart, not a selfish heart. It was once said - "the greatest prayer anyone can pray is 'Thy will be done'." - Garrett Longest

Ephesians 2:4-10 - “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” During this Memorial Day weekend as we remember those who died to give us the freedoms and liberties to live here in the USA, let us remember and be thankful for Jesus Christ who gave the ultimate sacrifice.  - Clifford Myers

Psalms 119:133 - "Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me." This is something to pray for daily, not just for ourselves, but for our children as they grow up, to follow paths of righteousness. - Phil Dann

Romans 1:21 - "Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened." - This verse and the ones following show the downfall of mankind. It's starts by not glorifying and thanking the God everyone knows exists (v20). A rejection of God and His truth has lead America to where she is now. Idolatry and sexual perversions are two of the symptoms these verses mention that are consuming our land.  Pray that we as Christian men would glorify and thank God for who He is.  If we fail to live for Him His Word warns in Romans Ch 2, that judgment will follow. - Matt Stephens

Isaiah 64:4 - "For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him." Waiting for God's timing is not easy because it makes us uncomfortable. However, the faith we gain in that waiting is the prize that makes us forget the discomfort. And the blessings are always so much greater than the discomfort. - Steve Boots

Proverbs 16:3 - "Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established."  God wants us to obey even though we may not understand.  Once we obey, we will begin to grow in our understanding. - John Mark Brothers

Job 19:25 - "For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:"  No matter what trials we face each week or how crazy & confused the world gets, we have many great promises from our Lord that we can hold on to.  I'm excited about one day seeing this promise fulfilled, getting to meet & worship our Saviour, and being reunited with those that are with Him already! - Jason Barrett

Jeremiah 1:5 - "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations." Let's remember that God has something special planned for each of our children. Let's try to cultivate that as much as possible and let's try not to push them towards what we want them to do.  They will only truly be comfortable in life if they are doing the will of God for their lives. - Jason Myers

Isaiah 40:31a - "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles..." I read a statement recently that put a new light on this verse. When a momma eagle wants her baby to fly, she gets him to step off a high cliff. God has given that eaglet the body structure, muscles, feathers, and everything he needs in order to fly. He just needs to take that step of faith. So "don't be a chicken, be an eagle." - Garrett Longest

Proverbs 4:26 - “Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.”  Proverbs 4 gives Godly advice from a father to his children.  Our children, grandchildren and others watch us, so let’s make sure our steps and ways are on the right path.  “Acorns don’t fall far from the oak tree” as Pastor has stated in reference to our children as they grow up.  Let’s be consistent in our walk with Christ. - Clifford Myers

2 Chronicles 15:12 - "And they entered into a covenant to seek the Lord God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul." There is no better way to start each day, than to want God's will in our lives and pray for it.  - Phil Dann

Proverbs 10:4 - "He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the  diligent maketh rich." In our day I believe that one of the greatest witnesses we have is our Christian character.  Many people have no interest or time for God, but when they see us working hard no matter what our task at work, it may give us opportunities to speak for Christ. - Matt Stephens

Isaiah 9:21 - "For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still." You must read the previous verses to understand the context of this verse. But this is about as accurate a picture as you can get of America. God holding his hand out for us to take it and come back to Him. Like a father who loves his children, He disciplines but always puts His arms out to embrace His child. But we refuse, as a country, and to what end? We are literally falling apart at the moral and spiritual seams. Our prayer should truly be "Revive us Again!" - Brian Boots

Ephesians 5:25 & Colossians 3:19 - "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it"; "Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them." When on earth, how much did Christ focus on how his followers were tending to His needs? My point exactly. As husbands, our concern is how are we loving our wives. Many a man is bitter against his wife. Why? Because he thinks on what she isn't doing for him, when he should be focusing on his role, his part to play in God's living picture of Christ's love for the church. - Daniel Holser

2 Timothy 1:12 - "For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.” We may not be persecuted like Paul was, but we still need to make sure no matter what others think, to never be ashamed of the Lord and what He has done for us. - Josh Gross

Acts 1:8b - "...and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." Every word Jesus spoke while on earth was important but these were Jesus' last words to his disciples before ascending to Heaven. Let's try to be a witness today on visitation! - Wes Smith

Ecclesiastes 3:11a - "He hath made everything beautiful in His time." So often we want God to answer prayers right away in our life and fail to realize how good the waiting process is for us.  If we don't learn to build a lasting, trusting relationship with Christ, we may miss what He is teaching us. I want to get to the place where Christ does the work in His time. A truly beautiful life. - Jason Brothers

Ezekiel 36:36-37 - "Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I the Lord build the ruined places, and plant that that was desolate: I the Lord have spoken it, and I will do it. Thus saith the Lord God; I will yet for this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them..." God already knew the answer to their prayer and how He was going to answer it, but He was still waiting to hear them pray. Don't get discouraged or give up in prayer because "God's gonna do what He's gonna do anyway." He wants to hear our prayers. - Steve Boots

Proverbs 19:21 - "There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand."  We have heard some great counsel from the Word of God the last few nights   Let's make sure we put those things into practice today. - John Mark Brothers

Jeremiah 17:5 - "Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord."  A song this weekend "My God is bigger than any problems" made me wonder how many times I trust in myself or others to get through trials, make big decisions, etc.  Let's go straight to the One that can help us with all things. - Jason Barrett

Colossians 3:14 - "And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness." To be the best husband to my wife, the best father to my children,  and the best servant for Jesus, I  must do everything with a love for others as Christ loves them. Without that love, I don't have the heart of Christ, and I will never be complete in anything I do. Please pray for me as I pray for you that we will be men who display the love of Christ to others.  - Jason Myers

1 Samuel 15:11 - "It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the Lord all night." What a powerful verse! We're either for God, or against God. When we sin and disobey God, it not only dishonors and hurts Him, but it hurts others as well. When Saul turned away from the Lord, it hurt both God and Samuel. It hurt Samuel to the point that he cried all night in prayer. On the other hand, Samuel was so close to God that he shared the same heartbreak with Him. Are we like Saul causing God sorrow, or are we like Samuel with the heart of God and praying for those who are stumbling in sin? - Garrett Longest

Matthew 7: 24-27 - “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:  And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.  And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.”  The world tries everything in attempts to make their lives useful and tolerant of others. My grandchildren love to collect rocks. God states that when we abide in Christ, hear, digest and do what his Word instructs us to do than we are building our home and family on the true ROCK, Jesus Christ. As parents and grandparents, we need to always keep Christ as our ROCK for our family and lives no matter what storms may happen.  - Clifford Myers

Proverbs 12:11 -"He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding."  I like this verse partially because I have a large garden and God gives us a lot of good things from it.  I also see it to mean that if we teach our children about Jesus and what's right, we will see the fruits of our labor if their lives.  - Phil Dann

Numbers 15:39 - "...that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the Lord, and do them;..." Israel did not have the written Word of God to read everyday like we do.  This chapter follows the story of the 12 spies and an incident of a man being stoned for gathering wood on the sabbath. God wanted the blue fringe in v38 to remind people throughout each day of His commandments. Praise God for the written reminder we can all hold in our hands. Were you reminded today? - Matthew Stephens

Joshua 7:25b-26a:  "And all Israel stoned him with stones, and burned them with fire ... So the LORD turned from the fierceness of his anger." Achan's sin resulted in his death and the death of his children. From Genesis to Revelation, we see God's paradigm of sin and punishment. Cain, David, Eli & his sons, Ananias & Sapphira; example after example. "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten," Jesus warns. All this is written so that we will not sin because we fear God. It's terrible that so often Christians gloss over this truth, even to the point of redefining words (we've all heard or read that "fear" of God just means "respect"). When I consider how God punishes and scourges his disobedient children, I don't merely respect or reverence Him. I am afraid of the pain of punishment; in other words, I fear Him. So should you. - Daniel Holser

Ecclesiastes 5:7 - "For in the multitude of dreams and many words there are also divers vanities: but fear thou God." There is so much emphasis put on the American Dream and being successful. Dreams and plans we have for tomorrow, next week, next year, 5 years from now. There is nothing wrong with dreaming and planning, but The Preacher cuts straight to the chase in this verse, and says there is 1 sure path to true success,"Fear thou GOD" How are we doing on this scale of true success? - Brian Boots

Joshua 7:13- "Up, sanctify the people, and say, Sanctify yourselves against to morrow: for thus saith the Lord God of Israel, There is an accursed thing in the midst of thee, O Israel: thou canst not stand before thine enemies, until ye take away the accursed thing from among you.” We need to make sure that we don't have sin in our lives, for it could be stopping our families, church, and even country from winning the battle. Let us be sanctified for His purpose. - Josh Gross

Genesis 1:1 - "In the beginning God created the Heavens and the earth." I am in the woods with Sam this morning, and we have seen God's creation  and have been amazed with what God has created here on earth so I can only imagine what he has created for us in Heaven" -

Psalm 39:7 - "And now Lord what wait I for? My hope is in Thee." David realized how frail he was.  Until we get to a place where we see ourselves and then look up and see the Master and Creator of the universe we will struggle with understanding where our hope comes from.  We can hope in the One Who never changes and Who will never leave us nor forsake us. - Jason Brothers

Matthew 12:36 - "But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgement." What a powerful statement. I couldn't even guess how many idle words I've uttered in my lifetime. We need to make sure we are very careful with our words because we will answer to God for them. - Steve Boots

2 Chronicles 29:3 & 17a - "He (Hezekiah) in the first year of his reign, in the first month, opened the doors of the house of the LORD, and repaired them . . . Now they began on the first day of the first month to sanctify . . ."  Hezekiah started making spiritual changes the day he became king. 2 Corinthians 4:17 (or two Corinthians per Donald Trump...haha) - "For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;"  No matter what light afflictions we suffer for following Jesus (mocking/jokes from co-workers, harsh words from some you witness to, constant questions about how we act or why we don't do certain things), it pales in comparison to what He went through for us and the glory that's waiting for us!  Let's keep looking for opportunities to share with others the same joys we look forward to. - Jason Barrett

Proverbs 4:18 - "But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day." Continue to be faithful in daily doing what is right and the Lord will lead you where He wants you and your family.  Remember the words of Abraham's servant "I being in the way,  the Lord led me ..." (Genesis 24:27). - Jason Myers

Genesis 40:6  - "And Joseph came in unto them in the morning, and looked upon them, and, behold, they were sad." After everything that Joseph has gone through, and then being thrown in prison, he still noticed and cared for others. Pastor has said several times that we won't be depressed if we stay busy and serve. Joseph didn't focus on his own circumstances or blamed anyone for his situations, but always stayed faithful to God and served. Remember the acronym for JOY: Jesus, Others, and then You. - Garrett Longest

Acts 17:10-11 - “And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”  These verses remind us to receive, study and search the scriptures daily in a willing and ready mindset.  II Timothy 3:16-17 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:  That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”  Let’s remember to take time to daily read, study, mediate and apply God’s Word as the Berean Christians did.  - Clifford Myers

Numbers 22:18 - "And Balaam answered and said unto the servants of Balak, If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the word of the Lord my God, to do less or more." Balaam stood firm as Balak's servants offered him great honor and anything he wanted IF he would curse the people. It's a difficult thing to resist when Satan puts temptation close to your heart in reach.  In the next verses, Balaam doesn't follow God's leading.  May we daily pray for wisdom to withstand the temptations set before us. - Phil Dann

Hebrews 9:27 warns, "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment." I was talking with a co-worker this week who grew up in church, but says he believes in reincarnation. A rebirth to experience the pain you have caused others. He is blind to the coming judgment that awaits this world.  Often times it is not enough to witness to co-workers. We must pray that the heart would be ready and it could be that we are the ones God would use to labor in the soil so others may reap the harvest. Our job is both to sow and reap, but trust God for the increase. - Matt Stephens

In Mark 16:6, an angel tells the women, "Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth..." I stopped there and thought, "I do, too." It is Jesus that I have sought all my life.  He is the One that I have needed. Let's not waste any more time looking for life and love in something or someone else, but turn our hearts to Him. Jesus, lover of my soul. - Daniel Holser

Proverbs 20:4 - "The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing." This verse is mostly used to talk about the importance of hard work, but there is very much a spiritual application here also. We've heard several messages recently about our job as Christians to win souls, but it is so easy to come up with excuses for not doing it. Let's be looking for opportunities to work for Christ, instead of looking for excuses to get out of it. It would be a shame to stand before God at judgement(harvest) with nothing to show for the life He gave us. - Brian Boots

2 Timothy 3:5 - "Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away." There are many "Christians" today that look and act the part, but are not plugged into the power source of the Lord. I pray that we are not as those who do not have a true relationship with God, but one that can pray and talk with our savior like a son.  May we not forget the power that is available to the sons of God. - Josh Gross.

Proverbs 11:1 - "A false balance is abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight" This verse can be applied in so many areas of our life. Our Pastor has said for years that as men we will never achieve true balance in our lives, but we should strive to keep our priorities straight. - Wes Smith

Psalm 28:6 - "Blessed be the Lord because He hath heard the voice of my supplications." It is comforting to know that God hears our prayers.  He may not answer them right away and He may never grant our request but He hears our prayers.  Don't you think He knows what is best for us? Remember that He hears our prayers and may it give us comfort like it did the psalmist. - Jason Brothers

Psalm 37:4 - "Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart." I think we mistake this to mean that God will give us what we want. I think it means that if we delight to do His will and His work then He will change our desires. That is something we should look forward to, not something that we should be afraid of. Our focus should be on delighting in Him each moment of the day. - Steve Boots

II Chronicles 7:1-2. "Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt-offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house. And the priests could not enter into the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD had filled the LORD'S house." May we pray daily that God would fill our temples (bodies) with His power and glory. - John Mark Brothers

Daniel 3:25 - "He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God."  This verse is a great reminder that no matter what trials we face - even those we bring on ourselves - our Lord is there for us! - Jason Barrett

I Corinthians 15:19 - "If in this life only we have hope in Christ,  we are of all men most miserable." Romans 8:11 - "But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by the Spirit that dwelleth in you." Thank God today and every day that Jesus rose from the grave. Without that, nothing in this life would be meaningful.  - Jason Myers

Luke 21:17 - "And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake." John 15:18 - "If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you." There's no way around it. We are hated because the world, in Satan's grasp, hates God. We aren't to let this discourage us. We are told to continue to spread the Gospel and to even "shake off the dust" from our feet to those who refuse to hear us. As in don't let rejection bother us, keep going, the harvest is already white. We don't have much time left. - Garrett Longest

Proverbs 3:5-6 - “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”  The times when I went on my own understanding and the issues that occurred w/o going to Christ for guidance and direction I can’t do over. The times when I trusted everything to Christ, the problems/concerns were resolved a lot better than I would have ever done.  The word “all” convicts that Christ’s leadership and trust is to be 24/7 in every part of our life.  Help us and myself to trust and do put Christ first 24/7 in all aspects/issues of our lives and families.  - Clifford Myers

Proverbs 20:12 - "The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the LORD hath made even both of them."  How are we using the parts that God made for us?  At work, home, etc.  Are we taking in what God would like to hold in His vessel?  - Phil Dann

Proverbs 22:28. - "Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set." We live in a society that is removing all the normals of Traditional American life.  Marriage has never had to be "defined" before. Persecution of Christians has always been spoken against  by this country until this century. Bibles in school were never considered "offensive".  We must lead our families and church and nation back to the landmarks that we were founded on lest we loose the land we love. - Matt Stephens

Ephesians 5:11 - "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them." This verse comes to mind when I consider watching TV or movies, or listening to secular music. These are unfruitful works of people lost in darkness. We shouldn't fellowship with worldly entertainment, but frankly condemn it. - Daniel Holser

Proverbs 14:9 - "Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour." At work, all day long I am around people who laugh at their sin. If I'm not careful, it stops bothering me. We must ask God for a hedge of protection. A righteous man finds favor with God, but he even finds favor with sinful men. - Brian Boots

2 Peter 1:1 - “Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:” We've all heard of Muller, Taylor, Paul and others who we would say had so much faith. To be honest though, we have the same like precious faith. We need to realize God can do the same miracles through us, if we just use that faith. - Josh Gross

I Timothy 6:6 - "But godliness with contentment is great gain..." The next verse states that we will take out what we brought in to this world when we were born... So let's not worry about what we can accumulate, but who we can win for Christ! - Wes Smith

Philippians 4:19 - "But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Let's not forget that our God gives us everything we have.  Do we really take the time to thank Him and do His blessings cause us to give more back to Him?  Daily remember how great He is and understand how much we need Him. - Jason Brothers

Judges 8:4 - "And Gideon came to Jordan, and passed over, he, and the three hundred men that were with him, faint, yet pursuing them." Sometimes we get discouraged because we don't see results from our efforts. Our job is to obey the commands in the Bible and leave the results to God. We can always do more for God. Don't quit. Complete victory may be just ahead. - Steve Boots

Matthew 7:25 - "And the rain descended and the floods came and the winds blew and beat upon that house and it fell not for it was founded upon a rock."  The storms and testing of life reveal our foundation.   The problem is we don't know which day storms are coming, so we must continually keep our foundation strong.  - John Mark Brothers

Ecclesiastes 10:12,14a - "The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself...A fool also is full of words." I think of our preacher with this description of gracious words and how he often prays & waits before speaking.  How does our speech portray us to others? - Jason Barrett

I Corinthians 2:15 - "But he that is spiritual judgeth all things,  yet he himself is judged of no man." As husbands and fathers,  we need to constantly use the Bible to discern whether our families are pleasing God. We also need to live in such a way, that while not perfect,  we give no one reason to speak poorly of Christ because of us. - Jason Myers

Sunday, March 13, 2016

2 Corinthians 11:30 - "If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern mine infirmities." In previous verses, Paul describes his many physical sufferings for the cause of Christ. It would be easy to give up if we went through just a few of these things, but not only did Paul persevere, he said that he gloried in them. May God give us the strength and encouragement to endure and grow from the hardships in our lives. Thank you, Lord, for my trials. - Garrett Longest

Psalm 71:15-18 - “My mouth shall shew forth thy righteousness and thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof.  I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only.  O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works.  Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come.”  David’s prayer request to God should also be ours.   Let’s look for opportunities each day to be a witness for Christ to a needy lost world. - Clifford Myers

Proverbs 2:1,5 - "My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; ... Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God."  This is not just to sons, but to us as part of being a child of God.  Do we understand what God is trying to show us?  If not, what is taking the place of God's Word in our hearts? - Phil Dann

Thursday, March 10, 2016

Romans 14:12 - "So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God." I was listening to some coworkers talk at work this week who are unsaved.  They were talking about the hypocrisy they have seen in supposed Christians they have been in contact with. Backstabbing, cursing, unwilling to help others in need, etc. It made me listen and wonder about those "Christians" and then examine myself. If I am not leading others to Christ I am leading them from him. Even as a Christian by not living for Christ in EVERYTHING I will lead people away from Jesus because they will have no reason to follow Him. How about you? Will others see Christ in you, I pray it is so! - Matt Stephens

Jeremiah 31:3b - "Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee." Years ago, a buddy of mine was struggling in his marriage.  He couldn't compel his wife to be and do what he wanted through the force of his strong personality.  Frustrated, he asked me what I thought he should do.  I passed along to him a very important insight from this verse:  Christ draws us to Him, compels his bride, not by force but with lovingkindness. - Daniel Holser

Proverbs 3:7 - "Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil." Too often, we think our ideas are the best and only way there is. Solomon here admonishes us to take our focus off of how smart we think we are, and focus on fearing the Lord and running from evil. That's some wise counsel. No question, a truly wise man will heed this advice. - Brian Boots

John 4:35 - “Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.” We all know this verse, but it stuck out that Jesus had to tell them to "lift up your eyes, and look". It's embarrassing, and we should feel ashamed that we aren't even looking for souls to be saved. God wants to use us, but we have to get our focus off of us and look at the harvest and go!  Do you see the harvest? -Josh Gross

Proverbs 18:21 - "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." We must remember how powerful our words can be for both encouragement or destructiveness. Think before you speak! - Wes Smith

Proverbs 16:2 - "He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty."  I often quote this verse to my sons hoping they do not inherit their dad's temper.  As Christians, we need to make a conscious effort to control our tongue, actions, and attitude before others when things for whatever reason don't go our way.  If that is just the way you are and sometimes you just can't help it, then work on changing it.  We are often known by the way we handle things.  Using good judgement, patience, and reason is a great way to show Christ to others. - Jason Brothers

Psalm 18:30 - "As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in Him." Often things just don't seem like they are going right or like they just don't fit in with the plans you have laid out for yourself. But, God knows exactly what is best for us, not just for now, but for ten years from now, too. Trust Him with today. His way is perfect. - Steve Boots

Galatians 6:14 - "But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world."  As we begin the month Easter is in this year, let us always be reminded of the importance of the cross. - John Mark Brothers

Psalm 19:10 - "More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold:  sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb." On my way home this weekend from buying some things I needed for a hobby, the song from this verse popped in my head - made me think for a few minutes if my desire to read & spend time in God's Word was greater than the worldly joys I have.  Nothing wrong with hobbies, but I want to make sure I'm more excited about spending time with my Lord. - Jason Barrett

Proverbs 28:4 - "They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them." Ask yourself this question: "Whose side am I fighting for today? " Your level of obedience to God's Word shows which one. Let's not let Satan use us to fight his battles. - Jason Myers

Mark 7:8,9 - "For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.  (9) And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition." Have we made God's commandments into a tradition or a habitual chore? Has going to church become the same-ol'-same-ol' routine? Are we comfortably drifting through the motions of the Christian life, or are we perusing the things God commands us out of humble obedience with the purpose of growing closer to Him? - Garrett Longest

Deuteronomy 4:9 - “Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them to thy sons, and thy sons' sons”. In today’s world, there are many distractions that can fill our hearts rather than being faithful to Christ.  Being a grandparent, I am reminded that I am charged to be a teacher not only to my children but also to my grandchildren. We are examined by children and adults as to our walk and testimony as a Christian.  Let’s diligently keep our souls and be consistent Christian teachers and mentors to our children and grandchildren. - Clifford Myers

Genesis 28:20-21 - "And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on, So that I come again to my father's house in peace, then shall  the LORD be my God."  Jacob here has just awoken from a dream where the Lord met with him.  As husbands and fathers, we need to daily ask God to provide for our families both physically and spiritually.  - Phil Dann

Ephesians 6:4 - "And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord." - I was thinking about this familiar verse the other day when I saw my son frustrated with a Lego. He couldn't quite get the pieces together. It made me realize how I get to model our Heavenly Father before my children. When the pieces of life just don't seem to fit, and we can't make sense of it, we have a father we can go to for help. It might start with a small toy, but we as fathers are laying the foundation of trust, kindness and patience in our children's lives that we want them to see in God. - Matthew Stephens

Philippians 2:4 - "Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others." This is the Bible's antidote to depression. If I focus on my own hurts and woes, I'll easily slip into spiritual lethargy and self-pity. But if I shift my thoughts to care for others, I'll find myself energized and excited about how God is using me in the lives of others. - Daniel Holser

Psalm 133:1 - "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!" It is always a breath of fresh air coming to church, to worship and fellowship with friends who have the same spiritual goals as I do. We should take every opportunity to be with our Christian brothers. Prayer meeting, church, church functions. It is good for us spiritually. But the key word is "unity". Let's make sure that there is no hint of bitterness in our lives, toward any of our Christian family. If there is, take care of it. - Brian Boots

Hebrews 11:1- "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." God uses the word NOW to describe faith. It's not old faith or what God has done for you or what you did in the past, but what about now? How is your Now Faith? Let us not ride on what has happened but what IS happening. What are you doing to have Now faith? -Josh Gross

I Thessalonians 5:17 - "Pray without ceasing." There has been no other time in our lifetime more important to follow this simple verse than now. Our children need prayer, our nation needs prayer, and we as men need prayer. Pray this morning this afternoon and tonight! - Wes Smith

Colossians 3:23 - "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily as to the Lord and not unto men." If you do something heartily or are passionate about something, it will consume you.  Why do I feel I am passionate with things that don't matter in this world and just going through the motions in my spiritual life?  What we talk about and do is where our passion is. Are we doing enough for Christ to be consumed with a passion for what He wants?  - Jason Brothers

Thursday, February 18, 2016

Amos 6:1 - "Woe unto them that are at ease in Zion..." What a strong warning to those of us who have been in church a lot of our lives. It's so easy to just coast through our spiritual lives because the wheels aren't falling off. We can never be satisfied with where we are spiritually. God wants to give us more, and He wants us to do more for Him. - Steve Boots

Psalm 119:54 - "Thy statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage."  The Word of God should come to our minds as we face certain situations today just like a word or circumstance will bring to mind the words of a song we have heard before. Allow God to call to mind His truth in your life. - John Mark Brothers

1 Timothy 4:12 - "Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity."  Are we acting in any way that causes those around us to think negatively on us or Christians in general?  Or, are we being genuine in our Christian lives and setting a good example for those watching us (children, friends, co-workers, etc.)? - Jason Barrett

Romans 14:7 - "For none of us liveth to himself,  and no man dieth to himself."
Remember that every thing that we think,  say, or do, we are going to be held accountable for.  We are also ambassadors for Christ, so our life will either help bring others to Christ, or it will turn them away from Him. - Jason Myers

2 Corinthians 11:14 - "And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light." There are so many different areas to discuss the influence and deception of Satan, but I'll mention one area that I personally battle with. God's Word stresses how important prayer is. Satan will try to distract me while I'm in prayer with God. He can and will use anything, especially something that appears to be good or spiritual. 'Oh, it's ok, it's still something about God or a rabbit trail in scripture.' But if that hinders me from praying, then Satan has won that battle. Be ever watchful of this wolf in sheep's clothing, this "angel of light", and roaring lion who is always seeking whom he may devour. - Garrett Longest

Psalms 119:105 - “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”  The Bible when read and applied is compared to a lamp and a light for each step and path forward in our life.  Like using a flashlight at night to ensure one doesn’t trip or stumble, GOD promises that his Word will be a lamp and light to keep one from stumbling or tripping in their Christian walk.  Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”  Let’s remember to not forget daily Bible reading. - Clifford Myers

Revelation 22:8-9 - "And I John saw these things and heard them.  And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.  Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God."  As busy as things may be here, keep what the angel told John to do in the forefront of all that we do...."worship God". - Phil Dann

Ezra 9:1 "...The people of Israel, and the priests, and the Levites, have not separated themselves from the people of the lands..." - As I read this verse I was challenged to ask myself how much I have separated myself, especially regarding my work environment. Do I really act godly at work in a visible way others will see; do I pray before lunch, do I laugh at off color jokes, or take a stand when God's name is taken in vain? In this verse, Israel had returned from captivity, but was still living like and married to the world. How much more will we who are blood-bought be accountable to live godly before our Lord. - Matt Stephens

John 16:20 - "...ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy." In this passage, Christ tells his friends that they will be heartbroken, but the Spirit will comfort them. As men, we balk at expressing sorrow. Typically, we display anger when really we are hurting and sad. But, Jesus wept, right? He cried so for Lazarus's death that those who were there exclaimed, "Behold how he loved him!" When sorrow comes, we should allow ourselves to experience it, express it, and then welcome the Spirit to comfort us. - Daniel Holser

Psalm 112:1-3 - "Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever." We work so hard every day to provide physically for our families, but these verses give a promise for the spiritual providing for our families. This spiritual provision is dependent on our fear of the Lord as head of the family.  How secure is your family's spiritual future? They are depending on you. - Brian Boots

John 13:34 - "A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another."  For some reason it seems that Christians love to attack each other. Even though we have this command from Jesus. Looking through the Word, Jesus never yells or screams at His disciples yet He rebuked them. Let's take His approach on handling sin and not griping about each other, but help build each other closer to Him. - Josh Gross

Romans 5:3,4 - "And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience and experience, hope..." We want the patience of Job but we don't want the tribulations...we gain patience, experience, and hope when we go through tough times. So thank God for them! - Wes Smith

Psalm 127:1a - "Except the Lord build the house  they labor in vain that build it." What are we building in our life?  As a Christian, my foundation is on the Solid Rock but the bricks and walls of selfishness and self-gratification must be replaced with His desires, will, and way for our lives.  Let's not forget that all our personal plans for life are as sinking sand if they are outside of God's construction. - Jason Brothers

Ecclesiastes 3:14 - "I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be forever: nothing can be put to it, nor anything taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him." We can rest in the assurance that no matter what happens, God is in control. As His children, we have no reason to worry about anything. We just need to let God do His work in our lives. - Steve Boots

2 Kings 6:17 - "And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see.  And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw:  and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha."  May the Lord open our eyes so we can see His forces as we face the world today. - John Mark Brothers

Isaiah 1:17 - "Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow."  Think of how God could use us and what an encouragement we'd be to others by living this way each day! - Jason Barrett

Hebrews 12:3 - "For consider Him that endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself,  lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds." It is shameful how many times in my life I have wondered whether it was worth all of the struggle to follow Christ. The thing that always brought me out of that thought process was thinking about what He struggled through for me.  As someone has said, "When you start to feel down,  look up." - Jason Myers

Colossians 2:2,3 - "That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; (3) In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." Verse 3 is a reflection through Christ of verse 2. It's a privilege that we have a relationship with the precious and true source of wisdom and knowledge. - Garrett Longest

Isaiah 1:18 - “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”With the recent snow storm, I was reminded of this verse. We have much to be thankful for.  - Clifford Myers

Proverbs 28:1b -"...but the righteous are bold as a lion." - I was thinking on this verse in light of Wed. night's message and was challenged to be a better witness to my coworkers. The prophet Daniel lived godly before people but did not stop there. He boldly proclaimed his love of God before the king. Challenge yourself and pray for each other that we all may dare to be a Daniel. - Matt Stephens

Isaiah 51:3 ends with "...joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving and the voice of melody." Joy. Gladness. Thankfulness. So happy that you're singing. Is that you? Me? Too often I am grouchy, annoyed, bothered by the nuisances and inconveniences of life. Not good. Correct my focus, Lord Jesus, so I am exhibiting the joy and gladness that your great love gives me! - Daniel Holser

Psalm 103:10-11 - "He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him."  I am so thankful that although I have many shortcomings and am very far from perfect, God is still so good to me, and does not reward me according to my sin and what I really deserve. This is a blessing He gives only to those that fear Him. As Christians we have many disappointments in our lives, but thankfully His mercy is not one of them. - Brian Boots

Revelation 2:10 - “Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.” Jesus was faithful unto death; don't back down, or become cold no matter what the devil does. Keep on the firing line, and you will get your reward. - Joshua Gross

Matthew 10:32 - "Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in Heaven." With all the political news and agenda going on now we should use this as a time to let those around us know that we believe in Jesus Christ and tell them what He did for us. - Wes Smith

Proverbs 23:28 - "She also lieth in wait as for a prey and increases the transgressors among men." Interesting how different a situation this is from Proverbs 7 where the man puts himself in the situation to do wrong.  It is not enough to stay away from those places and those people.  We as Christian men must be faithful in our walk with God so that He can help us guard against those who want to steal our testimony and character.  You are not looking,  but there may be one looking for you. Be aware and stay grounded in your walk with God. - Jason Brothers

Titus 1:15 - "Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled." It takes effort and conscious determination to keep your thoughts pure. Double meanings and ungodly thoughts do not belong in the mind of a godly man who desires to lead himself and his family into true holiness. A clean thought life begins with a vibrant relationship with Christ. - Steve Boots

I Corinthians 4:2 - "Moreover it is required in stewards that a man be found faithful." Our country, our church, our homes need men that are faithful.  We can all be faithful to the Lord no matter our talent or circumstances. - John Mark Brothers

Matthew 4:19 - "And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men."  Are we following the Lord's leading when it comes to winning souls to Him, or do we stop too often at just leaving a tract or praying for someone?  This year I'm trying to be more attentive to the opportunities He gives me to present the full message to strangers as well as those on my salvation list. - Jason Barrett

Psalm 40:8 - "I delight to do thy will,  O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart." One of the best ways to ensure that we do God's will for our lives is by reading and memorizing His Word. I am challenging myself this year to memorize and dwell on more of the Bible so that I will be more likely to obey it. Will you do the same? - Jason Myers

2 Peter 3:16 - "As also in all his [Paul] epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction." Beware other religions and doctrines that were made from taking God's Word out of context, twisting the meaning of a passage, or claiming contradictions (which is also taking out of context). These are to their own destruction. The Bible tells us that "Every word of God is pure" and that we should "Study to shew thyself approved....rightly dividing the word of truth." - Garrett Longest

Zechariah 7:8-10 - “And the word of the LORD came unto Zechariah, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother: And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.”  There are many needs that require our prayers and actions outside of our immediate families (i.e. fellow church families, bus children/their families, coworkers, extended family, etc.).  God through Zechariah let the Israelites know why they were in captivity and why their prayers were not being answered.  Let us remember Galatians 6: 10  “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”  - Clifford Myers

Revelation 2:17 - "He that an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it."  God has so much for us if we will just take the time to daily search the Scriptures and meet with Him. - Phil Dann

Amos 5:24 - "But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream."  The book of Amos is a warning of God's coming judgment on a people that claim to be God's people but disregard His direction in worship.  In the previous verses God states the their worship is despised because there is no righteousness.  As we go to worship this weekend, remember God want us to live righteously and exercise godly judgment of right and wrong so our worship will be acceptable to Him. True worship is really on the inside, but manifested by our actions. - Matt Stephens

John 10:27 - "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them . . ." Think on that. Jesus knows you. The real you, all that you are. And, he loves you. It doesn't get better than that. - Daniel Holser

Psalm 92:13-14 - "Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;". This is my hope and prayer and hopefully that of every Christian, flourishing and bearing fruit for Christ right into old age. This is not done by accident though. Like brother John Mark preached, we must be in our Bibles and know what we believe to be able to pass it on. - Brian Boots

Galatians 5:1 -“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” God saved us not only from our sins but OUT of sin. We must remember that we are not bound by sin like those unsaved, which should help us to make the right choices and to want to save others so they may be free. - Josh Gross

Nehemiah 8:3b - "And the ears of all the people were attentive unto the book of the law."  I heard a preacher say recently, that it is so important for us to prepare ourselves for hearing the Word of God preached by confessing sin and finding quiet time to focus before going to church.  So often times we rush into church like it is another gym, restaurant, or grocery store and then wonder why we get nothing out of it.  This year go to church with a purpose of receiving a blessing because you have prepared your heart. - Jason Brothers

John 7:17 - "If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine." God will show us His will for our life if we not only seek it but more importantly have a willing heart to do what He has for us. - Wes Smith

Psalm 84:11 - "For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly." What an incentive this is to just live and love a holy life. We like to blame God sometimes for the way things go in our lives, but imagine how much has been withheld because we weren't walking uprightly. This just proves that God is waiting  for us to do right so He can bless us. - Steve Boots

Philippians 4:7 - "And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Throughout this letter Paul tells us "I have all, and abound"; "my God shall supply"; "Rejoice in the Lord"; "I thank my God"; "I trust in the Lord"; Over and over Paul reminds us that whatever we are going through in life (in Paul's case, he was in prison anticipating his death) don't worry because God is in complete control. He is allowing the circumstances for a reason, and that reason is always to strengthen us. God's peace which passeth all understanding led Paul to say "in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content." - Garrett Longest

Romans 11:33 - "O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!  how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!"  We have an amazing God!  Let's take advantage of His wisdom by asking for it this year. - John Mark Brothers

Matthew 20:27-28 - "And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: Even as the Son of Man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give His life a ransom for many" As men, the temptation is to try to be in charge of everything and everybody.  Let's try to look for opportunities to serve those in our families and in our church this year. - Jason Myers

II Timothy 2:15 - “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” Paul reminds Timothy and us to daily read, study, and correctly apply God’s Word in our walk, conversation, and daily life.  Let’s remember this as we start this new year of 2016. - Clifford Myers

Philippians 3:17 - "Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample." I'm so thankful that we have a church full of Christ-honoring men and women that my children can look up to as they grow up. - Phil Dann

Psalm 3:3 - "But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head." - How blessed we are to have a shield in God to hide from the attacks of this world. But not only do we hide there, He is also the One that lifts us up when we are down. Remember, no matter what we may face this week, we have a God to go to in trouble Who will raise us up when we are down. And He NEVER fails. - Matt Stephens

Psalm 2:8 - "Ask of me and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession." I don't think this is too much of a stretch to say that this verse could be taken as; if we would ask God in prayer for the souls of the unsaved we are working on, he will answer our prayer with their salvation being added to our account. Are we praying like we should for those lost souls that we know? -Brian Boots
