Romans 8:18 - “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us." With today being the fresh start, and we remember all that happened last year, remember what is waiting for us when we get to Heaven and don't forget to keep looking up. "Even so, come, Lord Jesus." May that be our families' prayer for this new year. -Joshua Gross

Proverbs 24:13-14 - "My son eat thou honey, because it is good and the honeycomb which is sweet to thy taste. So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul when thou hast found it then there shall be a reward and thy expectation shall not be cut off." We can only gain true wisdom from the Word of God so with the new year starting I am going to commit myself to spending more time in His Word than this past year! - Wes Smith

1 Samuel 15:22a - "And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of the Lord?" Saul worshipped as he saw fit and when confronted was full of excuses.  Sound familiar? Are we following the instructions of the Bible and simply obeying God's Word or conforming our worship to what we feel like is acceptable and excusing away the conviction from the Holy Spirit? - Jason Brothers

Acts 17:6 - "And...they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also." We may not be able to change the entire world, but we can do everything possible to influence our corner of the world for Jesus Christ. It would be the ultimate epitaph to say "he turned the world upside down," but that only comes when we completely sell out to Christ and let Him use us how He sees fit. - Steve Boots

2 Samuel 7:18 - "Then went king David in, and sat before the LORD, and he said, Who am I, O LORD GOD?  and what is my house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?"  It is humbling to think of all that God has done for us and where He has placed us at this time in our lives. It is amazing that God chooses to work through us. - John Mark Brothers

2 Corinthians 6:14 - "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness?  and what communion hath light with darkness?"  What changes can we make in our lives this New Year to improve our fellowship with the Lord? - Jason Barrett

Matthew 7:11 - "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in Heaven give good things to them that ask Him?" Just as we had great excitement giving our children their gifts, think of the God of all creation choosing us individually to bless each day. He not only keeps his promise to meet our needs, but He also gives us blessings each day. Let's remind Him daily how thankful we are by our words and the way we live." Jason Myers

Matthew 1:21 - "And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins." Remember the reason we celebrate Christmas is not just for Christ's birth, but for His death. The purpose of His birth was so that He could die - so He could "save his people from their sins."  Praise the Lord that our salvation wasn't finished at His death, for He is RISEN! - Garrett Longest

John 3:16-17 - “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”  As we celebrate Christmas with family and friends, let us not forget to be a witness to others of the saving grace of Christ and why Jesus Christ was sent by God to be born into the world.  - Clifford Myers

Romans 4:7,8 - "...Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.  Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin." Because of salvation, to have the Lord not hold us to the sins in our lives is immeasurable.  To share this blessing with others is priceless.  - Phil Dann

Proverbs 21:31 - "The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the Lord." In life we all have battles to face daily or even hourly it may seem at times.  We can prepare and do what we think is needed, but ultimately those are human actions. Our true dependence must be on Him for His guidance and protection. Our best effort is feeble at best when compared to the provision He supplies. There is no greater testimony of God's care and love for us than Jesus, the real reason for CHRISTmas. - Matthew Stephens

Psalm 31:6a - "I have hated them that regard lying vanities."  If we listed the titles in our movie collections or went through our internet history together, would we find evidence that we hate the world's lying vanities, or rather that we relish them? -Daniel Holser

Psalm 81:13 - "Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways!" - If you can, read the last verses of this chapter following vs 13 as well. It speaks of the good things God had in store if His people would just have obeyed his voice and turned their hearts to Him. I think that most of our problems are mostly our own faults. God has so much in store for us and our families, but often we are too stubborn or proud to surrender our lives to Him, the one who knows the good plans He has for our lives. If only He could get us to hand over the reins of our hearts to Him. - Brian Boots

John 1:4-5 - "In Him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not." How is your light doing? Is it bright or are you a little dim? Your light will only shine if you are connected to the power source. Stay close to Him and His Word, and your light will be bright without you even trying. - Joshua Gross

Matthew 7:4 - "Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull the mote out of thine eye,and behold a beam is in thine own eye?" We should be looking for small things in our lives to straighten out not being critical to our Christian brothers... - Wes Smith

Proverbs 16:20 - "He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good and whoso trusteth in the Lord happy is he."  The sin we deny (pride, selfishness, what we want, how we look) when we handle a matter wisely, gives way to a trust in Christ that satisfies.  Grasp hold of good judgement, slowness to anger, and a humble spirit.  Handling your  problems wisely will become easier. -Jason Brothers

Titus 1:16 - "They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate." We all profess to know God, but what do our works, public and private, prove? We know what is right; we prove our love for God when we just do it. - Steve Boots

Psalm 68:19 - "Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation."  There's not a day that goes by that God doesn't take care of us. Be aware today of the daily blessings of God. - John Mark Brothers

Ephesians 6:6 - "Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;" - At work, are we working hard to look good to our boss or co-workers?  At church, do we serve for attention or praise?  Are my true motives to help accomplish God's will or simply please men? - Jason Barrett

Psalm 73:24 - "Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory." God will guide you with His counsel. He'll never give you bad advice, lead you in the wrong direction, or be unable to solve a problem. And after this life is over, He'll receive you into His glorious presence. Notice the words "guide" and "receive". This means God is always present. There is never any time apart from God, for He has told us "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." - Garrett Longest

Acts 4:13-14 - "Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men,  they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them,  that they had been with Jesus. And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it. "
The most powerful tool of influence we have to go along with the Gospel is the testimony of our changed life. No matter how much hatred there is towards Christianity,  there is nothing the world can offer that can change a life like Jesus can. Let's be excited about being different than the world and use our testimony to point others to Christ. - Jason Myers

Psalm 19:14  - “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.” David desired that his words, speech and personal thoughts would be acceptable to GOD.  He also acknowledged that his strength and redemption comes solely from the LORD. It should likewise be our desire and daily prayers that our actions, thoughts, words, and speech be found acceptable to our LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST.  -Clifford Myers

Acts 25:7 - "And when he was come, the Jews which came down  from Jerusalem stood round about, and laid many and grievous complaints against Paul, which they could not prove." Paul went through many trials and persecutions that tested his faith.  Remember that God will be with us in all that we face today.  How we handle them reflects our faith and trust in Him.  - Phil Dann

Joshua 8:34 - "And afterward he read all the words of the law, the blessings and cursings, according to all that is written in the book of the law." - Israel has just been given a great victory after their first defeat at Ai. Joshua knew that right after thanking God for the victory he needed to remind the people it was not they who had won the battle. As we pray and ask for victories, let's not just thank God for that "big win" but also thank Him for who He is. Let's remember both His goodness and His demand for righteousness. - Matt Stephens

Philippians 2:3 - "Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind, let each esteem other better than themselves." The Bible also tells us that "only by pride cometh contention." We need to check our hearts for pride and take upon ourselves, as Christ did, the form of a servant. - Daniel Holser

Psalm 73:13 - "Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency." In this entire Psalm, the Psalmist is calling out to God about how those of the world seem to prosper in their wickedness, and yet he struggled along, fighting to be clean, and seemingly getting no blessing from God for his desire to be right - until vs. 17. "Until I went into the sanctuary of God, then understood I their end." In the end, sinners will pay for their sin, and we know the joy and blessing we have coming to us in Heaven. Let what we have learned in church about the sinners end,  motivate us to compassion for their souls. - Brian Boots

Micah 7:8 - "Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me."  The verse never says we won't fall, nor be in darkness, but we have the blessed hope that we will rise, and He will be there to help us through no matter what we face. - Josh Gross

Luke 6:38 - "Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure pressed down and shaken together and running over."
Remember in this Christmas season the more you give to God the more you will receive back from Him..."running over" the verse says! - Wes Smith

Proverbs 17:28 - "Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding."  How many times this week have I said something without thinking?  Making a habit of internally asking God for wisdom before speaking will help us have fewer opportunities of saying something we wish we hadn't. - Jason Brothers

Hebrews 11:13,16 - "These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them...But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God..." Do your desires and your amount of faith leave God ashamed or proud to be your God? - Steve Boots

Acts 13:52 - "And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Ghost." Real joy comes as we are filled with the Spirit. I want to ask God each day for the fullness of the Spirit, and consequently a life filled with joy. - John Mark Brothers

Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."   Praise God that He has a plan (expected end) for all of us and wants to use each of us in a great way.  Are we working toward His will for us? - Jason Barrett
