Proverbs 18:24 - “A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.” Proverbs 27:9 “Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the sweetness of a man's friend by hearty counsel.”Proverbs 27:17 “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.” The Bible states being the right friend and being a friend is important. Help us to be a good Christian friend and witness to the lost. Christ is the best friend we can have. - Clifford Myers

Ephesians 2:4-10 - “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” During this Memorial Day weekend as we remember those who died to give us the freedoms and liberties to live here in the USA, let us remember and be thankful for Jesus Christ who gave the ultimate sacrifice.  - Clifford Myers

Proverbs 4:26 - “Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.”  Proverbs 4 gives Godly advice from a father to his children.  Our children, grandchildren and others watch us, so let’s make sure our steps and ways are on the right path.  “Acorns don’t fall far from the oak tree” as Pastor has stated in reference to our children as they grow up.  Let’s be consistent in our walk with Christ. - Clifford Myers

Acts 17:10-11 - “And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”  These verses remind us to receive, study and search the scriptures daily in a willing and ready mindset.  II Timothy 3:16-17 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:  That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”  Let’s remember to take time to daily read, study, mediate and apply God’s Word as the Berean Christians did.  - Clifford Myers

Proverbs 3:5-6 - “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”  The times when I went on my own understanding and the issues that occurred w/o going to Christ for guidance and direction I can’t do over. The times when I trusted everything to Christ, the problems/concerns were resolved a lot better than I would have ever done.  The word “all” convicts that Christ’s leadership and trust is to be 24/7 in every part of our life.  Help us and myself to trust and do put Christ first 24/7 in all aspects/issues of our lives and families.  - Clifford Myers

Psalm 71:15-18 - “My mouth shall shew forth thy righteousness and thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof.  I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only.  O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works.  Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come.”  David’s prayer request to God should also be ours.   Let’s look for opportunities each day to be a witness for Christ to a needy lost world. - Clifford Myers

Deuteronomy 4:9 - “Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them to thy sons, and thy sons' sons”. In today’s world, there are many distractions that can fill our hearts rather than being faithful to Christ.  Being a grandparent, I am reminded that I am charged to be a teacher not only to my children but also to my grandchildren. We are examined by children and adults as to our walk and testimony as a Christian.  Let’s diligently keep our souls and be consistent Christian teachers and mentors to our children and grandchildren. - Clifford Myers

Psalms 119:105 - “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”  The Bible when read and applied is compared to a lamp and a light for each step and path forward in our life.  Like using a flashlight at night to ensure one doesn’t trip or stumble, GOD promises that his Word will be a lamp and light to keep one from stumbling or tripping in their Christian walk.  Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”  Let’s remember to not forget daily Bible reading. - Clifford Myers

Zechariah 7:8-10 - “And the word of the LORD came unto Zechariah, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother: And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.”  There are many needs that require our prayers and actions outside of our immediate families (i.e. fellow church families, bus children/their families, coworkers, extended family, etc.).  God through Zechariah let the Israelites know why they were in captivity and why their prayers were not being answered.  Let us remember Galatians 6: 10  “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”  - Clifford Myers

John 3:16-17 - “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”  As we celebrate Christmas with family and friends, let us not forget to be a witness to others of the saving grace of Christ and why Jesus Christ was sent by God to be born into the world.  - Clifford Myers

Psalm 19:14  - “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.” David desired that his words, speech and personal thoughts would be acceptable to GOD.  He also acknowledged that his strength and redemption comes solely from the LORD. It should likewise be our desire and daily prayers that our actions, thoughts, words, and speech be found acceptable to our LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST.  -Clifford Myers

Philippians 4:6-7 - “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” We are to come to Christ by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving for all our cares whether small or large. I Peter 5: 7 states, “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” Verse 6 reminds us to bring all our requests to God with thanksgiving.  We all have much to thank Christ Jesus starting with our salvation, family, and church. - Clifford Myers

Colossians 4:5-6 - “Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.  Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.” Our daily walk as Christians in the home, workplace, and other daily activities requires much wisdom.  Whether as a boss, worker, young or old, it is imperative that we ask Christ daily for wisdom.  Proverbs 4: 7 states “Wisdom is the principal thing therefore get wisdom…”.  In James 1 we are told that GOD will give wisdom to all men liberally if we ask. - Clifford Myers
